ICHT Visit Marches-Les-Dames

Three members of the ICHT team were available to accepty the kind invitation of the Commandong Officer LtCol Anthiony SIX, to vist CTC Belge at Marches-Les-Dames. After a tour of the Headquarters and Chapel, the team could not escape the engrained spirit of the original Commando Basic Training Centre at Achnacarry. Centred on the castle itself, the tarzan and assault courses are integrated closely to the building and the adjacent water and cliff features. The ICHT team visited the Commando Museum and were later guests at the 'Beret Ceremony' where successful trainees, having completed the course, were presented with berets in accordance with their receiving units, parachute batallions to the north and commando units to the south. Families and staff were present at a parade that emphasised the commando atmosphere.
