We are delighted to confirm the appointment of Jon Frulani Architects, Dundee as the official architects for the ICHC project.

In late 2024, we had the pleasure to meet with representatives of Jon Frulani's office at Spean Bridge and visited the Commando Memorial site. As part of the 'Feasibility Study' members of the team were keen to understand what might be possible close by. We also wanted to ensure that whatever and whoever might be involved in any follow-on project, clearly understood the history and heritage, indeed, the spirit of WW2 Commando training at Achnacarry and the Lochaber District.
From those discussions, it became clear that Doug Sturrock had completely engaged with the sensitivity of the of the requirement - to create a Commando Heritage Centre, nearby, to tell the story of a heroic generation, the communities of the area and the legacy that UK & Allied Nations carry on to this day through teir own Commands and Special Forces
A discreet place of respect, reflection, community and learning.
Based on ideas presented to him by members of the ICHT team, the concept of a practically invisible, discreet facility, contrived to be as close to carbon neutral and eco-efficient as may be possible and with the over-riding caveat that nothing must distort the vista that currently exists - a subterranean heritage centre, was conceived.
In June 2025, based upon the prevailing concept, Mr. Jon Frulani indicated that he considered this to be one of the most important project in recent times and wished to be part of the team.
We look forward to working closely with Jon Frulani and his team, Doug Sturrock and
David Urquart as we move forward with this important legacy project.
