The notorious speed march from Spean Bridge Railway Station to the gates of Achnacarry House - 'Castle Commando' was the first challenge to be faced by prospective commandos during WW2 training at Lochaber.

Speed marches continue to form part of contemporary commando training and form part of the final tests for the young men and women of todays elite forces. This event, held on the first Saturday off March, aims to continue that legacy in the spirit of camaraderie, whilst raising funds for military and community charities.
